Long Beach, CA 90807

If you have ever thought about supporting our troops, have you ever considered the impact you could have by supporting their families? California remains home to the largest number of military members killed in our current conflicts. While there is nothing we can do to bring back their loved ones, we can do a lot to bring comfort to the Families here at home by letting them know that there is a community of support right on their doorstep.

Cruise Honoring Our Fallen is a unique effort to involve the entire community for a day of family fun, to give back to the families who have suffered the loss of precious loved ones who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

On Saturday, November 15, 2014, dozens of classic cars will roll through the streets of Long Beach to the Petroleum Club for a car show featuring Food Trucks, Vendors, Entertainment and Military Vehicles. Buffet Lunch and Full Bar will be available Poolside at the Petroleum Club. Join us outside at the main stage at 2:00 p.m. for a special "American Hero Tribute" banner unveiling. This beautiful tribute will honor a group of heroes who "gave all" in defense of our nation's freedom.

We believe it is important for us to continue to build and develop relationships with other children and now single parents that understand the journey. We have created monthly events with themed holiday/seasonal activities as a safe place parents and children can come together for a day of fun with an unspoken understanding between all.

We are looking for additional sponsors and donors to help make these events special. Please consider supporting this monthly event with a monetary donation or in-kind donation of items or services. For further information please contactlaura@honoringourfallen.org at (800) 796-6359

Celebrate July 4th at Vets Stadium with Us

1/10

We are extremely honored that Honoring Our Fallen was part of this event and we were given the opportunity to tell a little about "Our Story" and honored to have read the names of all Long Beach fallen in a special tribute.

We were blessed to have two Gold Star Wives, a Gold Star Mother, and two Gold Star Children made it all the more special as our Founder stood on stage sharing a bit about us with the crowd gathered. We recruited 5 new volunteers and had great time speaking at our booth with many veterans and community members. We hope you all enjoyed your celebration of our Independence. God Bless The USA!

Operation Hope 2014 Flag Day / Father's Day Event

1/14

We had a great day celebrating Flag Day and Father's Day with children of our fallen. We had a flag day kids craft and helped each child make a pennies from heaven jar in honor of Father's Day. Each child also received a book mark specially made with a story about pennies from heaven for mommy to read.

"Today my babies and I spent time making 'Pennies from Heaven' jars for their Daddy in Heaven that they'll take to the cemetery to show James tomorrow (for Father's Day). I'm beyond thankful there are beautiful souls like Laura Herzog & organizations like Honoring Our Fallen, who dedicate themselves to serving surviving military families. It's also nice to talk to ladies who have have gone through similar pain, I know I'm not alone."

Gold Star Mother's Retreat

1/19

We had a fun filled weekend in Santa Diego with ten mothers of our nation's fallen. Thank you to the Sense Foundation our Presenting Sponsor who made this event a reality. When I read these thoughts about the event from one of the mother's in attendance it brought smiles and tears.

“I feel the best part about this event is meeting all the women from Honoring Our Fallen. By putting us together we have created a bond that cannot be replaced, together we all know what it is like to lose a child. This weekend was better than my therapy sessions at home. I feel better this weekend than from seven months of therapy. Thank you for everything you do and for bringing us together” Rena Martinez, Mother of Lance Corporal Joshua Martinez, Killed Stateside 8-06-2013.

A Flag for Every Hero Annual Memorial/Veterans' Day Flag Project

1/5

Memorial Day is the day we honor our Fallen Heroes and Veterans' Day is the day we honor all military veterans, Honoring Our Fallen is working collaboratively with Anaheim Police Association, Orange County Coalition of Police & Sheriffs (OC Cops) and the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), and many local donors and volunteers to honor more than 200,000 Heroes with flags in their honor this year.

Honoring Our Fallen seeks volunteers to assist in purchasing and placing flags out on grave sites at Riverside National Cemetery for Memorial Day.

Riverside National Cemetery is the only national cemetery in the Southern California area that has no organized effort to do this. The sheer size of the cemetery (200,000+ grave sites) makes it virtually impossible for the cemetery to fund such a program. The public is welcome to participate in placing flags out on grave sites for Memorial Day; however, the cemetery requires it to be done at the volunteer's sole expense. Sadly, because of this, at least half of the grave sites are left empty each year.

Great story about Brennan Leininger, United States Air Force Veteran, program visionary and director for "A Flag For Every Hero". We are honored he partnered with Honoring Our Fallen, and that we are able to be a part of his vision becoming a reality. We have heard from so many how much it means to families and our community to see the cemetery filled on Memorial Day and later in the year honoring Veterans Day. The sacrifices of the men and women taking their last breath defending our freedom will NEVER be forgotten. Thank you Brennan for your vision and to all who help his team make it happen, it was our honor to have Undersecretary, Steve Muro who oversees all our National Cemeteries with us.
