Memorial Wall Unveiling- May 30, 2016

Honoring Our Fallen,  was honored to unveil a memorial wall lists the names of armed forces members who gave their lives in the service since 9/11. Inscribed in order of death will be the names of all 6,863 as confirmed by US Central Command. At sunrise, we were honored to have soldiers, marines, and veterans come to conduct a reading of the names and just prior to sunset with over 300 present with us to unveil the wall of names. This will be a place where families and friends can come to visit, do a name rubbing, place a flower and see their loved ones sacrifice is not forgotten.  For some families in California, this wall will be the closest place they can come as their hero is buried out of state or a distance to far to travel on a moment's decision.

The Honoring Our Fallen Memorial Wall is located at Rosie the Riveter park in Long Beach California and was unveiled at a Memorial Day ceremony. We are reaching out to our community to assist us in the funds to complete this wall. Total initial cost is close to $50,000. The wall will not be completed with that and we have an additional 40K in work to be done.

There will be additional costs following the initial $47,500 we have already paid for at this time this was paid through a $ 17,000 donated by the family of USMC Cpl Claudio Patino in his memory, a little over 15K via GoFundMe and cash donations, and the rest from our general fund monies.

Items we will complete at a future date once funds are raised for: memorial plaques, additional memorial plates honoring those we have lost to suicide, landscaping, led light bar, and monies needed to maintain the wall and be able to unfortunately add names as needed.
